Hazel & Rose was founded by Emma Olson in 2016 when she couldn't find a local place that carried her favorite sustainable & ethical brands all in one place. The shop opened in Northeast Minneapolis with the intent to showcase independent brands - some locally made, others from around the world - who were committed to quality, beauty, transparency, and sustainability.

In September 2017, Bobbi Barron joined Hazel & Rose as a co-owner, bringing years of experience with her own independent storefront in rural Minnesota. Together, Emma and Bobbi have remained dedicated to finding garments and designers that inspire and last.

In May 2019, Emma departed from Hazel & Rose to pursue her next adventure. Bobbi continues to hold true to the values Hazel & Rose has always been know for.
Intention
Since its inception, Hazel & Rose has remained true to three requirements for goods carried in the shop: well made, sustainably made, and ethically made. Hazel & Rose is about recognizing that what you wear matters. How it was made, and who made it, matters. Quality matters. Beauty matters.
...
Well Made
First and foremost, goods should be beautiful and they should last.
Sustainably Made
Fashion has a huge impact on the environment.
The goods sold at Hazel & Rose are made with the intent to lessen that environmental impact.
Ethically Made
No one should have to give up their lives to make clothes.
The individuals who made the goods sold at Hazel & Rose were paid a fair and living wage.
