Buyer's Picks: Moth Oddities x Hazel & Rose Vintage Capsule
This past weekend we launched our first ever vintage capsule collection, curated specifically for us by local vintage faves Moth Oddities. Moth Oddities owners Yana & Ian did a fantastic job finding pieces from across the US and Italy that would sit beautifully with our other designers.
When Bobbi and I partnered this fall and shared our thoughts about how Hazel & Rose would grow, vintage was a category that we knew we wanted to introduce into the shop. Fashion is always cyclical, and it seems that now more than ever shoppers have an appreciation for vintage wares.
We especially love vintage because it is an inherently sustainable option; buying a vintage item keeps that item from being discarded and ending up in a landfill. And what's better than discovering that perfect item that can't be found anywhere else?
Our collection with Moth Oddities is full of gems (hello, ivory silk Yves Saint Laurent trousers!), but here are our top picks*.
*As much as we love each of these pieces, we aren't keeping them for ourselves, so they're all still available!

STATEMENT COATS 'TIL I DIE
I am always a sucker for a gorgeous coat. I've been collecting dramatic outerwear since high school, when I begged our theater costume department to let me purchase a coat that I'd been obsessed with since middle school and they were like, "uhhhhh, you can just keep it." This Perry Ellis houndstooth coat is an absolute dream. It is deliciously soft with a fit that's tailored but roomy enough to still wear with your biggest sweater.
When I put an outfit together, I often let a single piece do most of the work, so I chose a silk blouse in the softest blush color and classic Calvin Klein jeans (I am so glad we were able to get items up to a size 16 in this collection!) to wear with this amazing coat. My Reike Nen Ring Loafers and the simple basket weave handbag complete the look.

GIVE ME ALL THE REDS
I've been really into red tonal looks lately! I chose this coat and trouser combo, because I love that they almost don't go together, but when you add the cream, brown and black it feels cohesive. It's been quite a few years since I have worn any kind of color and this feels really fresh and unexpected.
I was recently asked to describe my personal style and at first I found this question really hard. My style changes so frequently that it can be hard for me to pin it down, but after some thought I realized what has been consistent through the years, especially in my 30's. I often land on the "Man Repeller" spectrum: androgynous and slightly unflattering but always interesting. I think this outfit encompasses all those things.
